If you have followed the advice in the previous chapter, then you are going to avoid a lot of problems that can arise after the flop. That is, you will not find yourself out of position with a marginal hand. If you are in early position, you should have started with a strong hand, and the nature of the flop will largely determine how you play. If you are in late position, then the hands you could be holding are varied. Now, both the nature of the flop and what your opponent(s) do will each play a significant role in your actions. Let's look first at some general postflop considerations before getting into some specific situations.
