Alan Sasser
North Carolina native Alan Sasser ended up at ClubWPT because he wanted to play poker online without having to worry about losing too much money in the process. Not only has Sasser protected his bankroll with the subscription-based poker room, he has also profited tremendously, winning his way into a $10,000 buy-in World Poker Tour event just months after signing up with the site. He chatted with us about why he enjoys ClubWPT and what he is looking forward to about playing in his first WPT event.

Interview
ClubWPT: How did you get started in poker?
Sasser: It was actually after I saw Lee Childs at the final table of the Main Event in 2007. We work with his family, and I thought if he could make the Main Event final table so could I.
ClubWPT: How did you first find out about ClubWPT.com
Sasser: I first found out about ClubWPT.com when I was watching the six qualifiers [on one of the episodes of ClubWPT.com on Fox Sports Net], and they were advertising this site.
ClubWPT: How long were you playing on the site before your big win?
Sasser: I signed up in May, and I won the WPT entry in August.
ClubWPT: Wow, that didn’t take long. Do you spend a lot of time playing on the site?
Sasser: I do (laughs). My job allows me to play a lot. I do promotions for car dealerships. We go into dealerships and help make them a lot of money.
ClubWPT: Prior to signing up, did you play poker around town or online elsewhere?
Sasser: I played poker on a couple of different sites, but it got too expensive. So I started playing on ClubWPT.com because it was inexpensive and fun. There are lots of fun people to chat with.
ClubWPT: Have you made friends on the site at all?
Sasser: I have. I’ve made a lot of buddies, and they’re all rooting for me this week.
ClubWPT: Are any friends and family coming to Foxwoods to watch you play?
Sasser: I’ve got a friend with me that I have known since he was 4-years old and I’m 46 now.
ClubWPT: Have either of you been to Foxwoods before?
Sasser: No, we’re from North Carolina, so it’s a bit out of the way.
ClubWPT: It’s a huge resort. Have you had a chance to explore the place at all?
Sasser: I’ve actually stayed lost the whole time I’ve been here (laughs).
ClubWPT: Is there anything you’re really looking forward to about the tournament?
Sasser: I’m looking forward to seeing some of the famous players and hopefully knocking on of them out.
